Class of 2008 – Completing the Personal Education Plan (PEP) in CIS

CIS Log In Directions:

1.      Students can log in to the CIS website from a Sprague computer or from home, anytime

2.      Click on the Mozilla Firefox icon  (orange)

3.      On the Sprague website, click Guidance/CIS, then CIS Website

4.      Or - In the address bar, type in:   oregoncis.uoregon.edu

5.      On the left there is a bright yellow arrow.  Click on the words “Sign In - CIS for Internet 

6.      In the boxes - Log in.  User Name = lastname_firstname    Password = student ID #     Click Sign in

7.      Do not share your student number with other students

Click on My Career Planning Portfolio – (Upper right-top line, blue letters)

1.  Click on My Personal Information  

A.     Fill in all information, capitalizing and spelling appropriately

B.     Be sure that the box is marked for ‘Yes, it is okay for the person helping me to view my portfolio.’ 

C.     Click Add/Change to save. 

D.  Click Return to My Career Planning Portfolio

2.  Under My Profile, click My Course Planner 

A.     Select a grade level and enter the classes you took during that year.  Use an unofficial copy of your transcript to help fill in subject, course title, term, required, and units, (grades received optional). Complete all four grade levels, 9-12.  For grade 12, enter classes you have taken and are in currently. 

B.     Click Save Information for each grade level before going on to the next.

C.     After saving all grade levels, click on My Career Planning Portfolio – (Upper right-top line, blue letters)

3.  Under My Profile, click My Education and Work History 

A.     On the left menu, under Resume Data Entry, click on each of the menu items except Military History

B.     Click on Edit to fill in information.  You may not have anything to fill in for one or two of the boxes, such as Workshops and Training – if so you can leave it blank

C.     At the bottom of this screen is the button to create a Resumé based on the information you have entered. 

D.     Click Save Information after you finish each menu item

E.      After you finish all of  the left menu in My Education and Work History, then click on My Career Planning Portfolio – (Upper right-top line, blue letters)

4.  Find My Plan – do not click on it, but under it 5 topics are listed 

A.     Click on Self-Knowledge

1.      Click Insert Today’s Date, then fill in the reflection box (at least 2 – 3 sentences) Use appropriate capitalization and spelling

2.      Click Save Information

3.      Click My Career Planning Portfolio – (Upper right-top line, blue letters)

B.     Click on Research and Goals

1.      Read the information, then click Insert Today’s Date and fill in the reflection box (at least 2 – 3 sentences) adding both short term and long term goals.  Use appropriate capitalization and spelling

2.      Click Save Information and repeat the process for the other reflection boxes, both short term and long term goals

3.      Click My Career Planning Portfolio – (Upper right-top line, blue letters)

C.  Click on Education Plans

1.      Read the information, then click Insert Today’s Date and fill in the first reflection box (at least 2 – 3 sentences).  Use appropriate capitalization and spelling

2.      Click Save Thoughts, and repeat the process for the other reflection boxes

3.      Click My Career Planning Portfolio – (Upper right-top line, blue letters)

D.  Click on Career-Related Learning and Work

1.      Read the information, then click Insert Today’s Date and fill in the first reflection box (at least 2 – 3 sentences).  Use appropriate capitalization and spelling

2.      Click Save Thoughts, and repeat the process for the other reflection boxes

3.      Click My Career Planning Portfolio – (Upper right-top line, blue letters)

E.  Click on Action and Reflections

1.      Read the information, then click Insert Today’s Date and fill in the first reflection box (at least 2 – 3 sentences).  Use appropriate capitalization and spelling

2.      Click Save Thoughts, and repeat the process for the other reflection boxes

3.      Click My Career Planning Portfolio – (Upper right-top line, blue letters)

 

  CIS Short Term Experience form:  If you need verification for one or more of the CRLS through this form:

4.      Go to the CIS Home page. 

5.      On the lower right under More Resources, click on My CLRE Planner. 

6.      Click on My CRLE Plans 

7.      Under Create New Plan / Type of Plan, is Short Term Experience. Click on New.  

8.      Under Plan Information, fill in the fields. 

9.      For Instructor, put in the name of your Advisor.  For Instructor phone # put in Sprague’s #, 503-399-3261

10.  The “Contact” information is for the person who will be scoring you on the form (such as a manager or supervisor)

11.  After all fields are completed, click Save Changes

12.  Under Complete My Plan, click Print. 

13.  You will have to click ‘print’ at 3 or 4 locations to view the form and then to print it.

 

Reminders:

Students must complete their Personal Education Plan on CIS to graduate. 

Advisors can look at printouts or can have the student log on to CIS and view their PEP components with them on the screen – check the preference of your advisor.
