Class of 2008 CRLS Graduation Requirements – Sprague Senior Checklist

 

 

DEMONSTRATE CAREER-RELATED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS AND DEMONSTRATE EXTENDED APPLICATION THROUGH A COLLECTION OF EVIDENCE:

 

1.  Career Related Learning Standard:  Personal Management – Exhibit appropriate work ethic and behaviors in school, community, and workplace

 

___ Unofficial transcripts showing on track for graduation at the end of 6th and 7th semesters

 

___ At least one of the following:

___ Copy of a Letter of Recommendation endorsing personal management skills from an employer, supervising adult, or teacher

___ Transcript shows .5 work experience credit

___ Copy of a job evaluation, signed by a supervisor

___ Verification of Personal Management Skills form signed by (1) employer (2) supervisor (3) teacher

      (Short form available on Sprague web site)

___ Completion of a CIS Short-term Experience Worksheet, signed by supervisor

 

2.  Career Related Learning Standard:  Problem Solving – Apply decision-making and problem-solving techniques in school, community, and workplace

 

___ At least two of the following:

___ Transcript shows passed one semester of any high school laboratory science class and a semester of math at Algebra 1 level or higher

___ RSA shows a Met science or a Met math work sample at CIM level

___ Copy of a Letter of Recommendation that addresses problem solving skills

___ Verification of Problem-Solving Skills form signed by (1) employer (2) supervisor (3) teacher

___ Completion of a CIS Short-term Experience Worksheet, signed by supervisor

 

3.  Career Related Learning Standard:  Communication – Demonstrate effective communication skills to give and receive information in school, community, and workplace

 

___ At least two of the following:

___ RSA shows one Met speaking and one Met writing work sample at CIM level

___ Transcript shows ‘C’ or better in Technical Writing I or II

___ Copy or presentation of one school report, essay, speech, or project related to a potential career field

___ Verification of participation in one interview or mock interview (form on Sprague website)

___ Verification of Communication Skills form signed by (1) employer (2) supervisor (3) teacher

      (Short form available on Sprague web site)

___ Completion of a CIS Short-term Experience Worksheet, signed by supervisor

 

4.  Career Related Learning Standard:  Teamwork – Demonstrate effective teamwork in school, community, and workplace

 

___ At least two of the following:

___ Transcript shows passed Wellness Skills II or PE Team Sports

___ Transcript shows ‘C’ or better in a CPM math class

___ Transcript shows credit for a school-related ensemble or activity (i.e. a class in Choir, Band, Orchestra, Leadership, etc. . .

___ Advisor verifies participation in Sprague OSAA athletics (lists on G drive)

___ Verification of Teamwork Skills form (available on Sprague web site) signed by (1) employer

 (2) supervisor (3) teacher showing:

- Verification of teamwork skills by participation in a school-related activity, ensemble, club, or team

- Verification of teamwork skills by participation in a community or workplace activity, club, or sport

___ Completion of a CIS Short-term Experience Worksheet, signed by supervisor


 

5.       Career Related Learning Standard:  Employment Foundations – Demonstrate academic, technical and organizational knowledge and skills required for successful employment

 

___ Documentation of Job Shadow and written Reflection on the Job Shadow

___ Printout of ASVAB results and interpretation

___ At least one of the following:

___ Transcript shows C or better in one semester of any CTE (Career/ Technical Education), FACS (Family and Consumer Studies), business, or computer course   ________________________

___ Transcript shows .5 credit of work experience

___ CIS printout documenting an Occupation Sort career search and investigation.  

___ Verification of Employment Foundations by (1) employer (2) supervisor (3) teacher

6.       Career Related Learning Standard:  Career Development – Demonstrate career development skills in planning for post high school experience

 

___ Copy of a completed application for a job or to a college, or an acceptance letter

___ Complete the following components of a four year Personal Education Plan (PEP)*

            ___ CIS My Personal Information*

            ___ CIS My Profile*

            ___ Printout of the CIS resumé from My Profile

            ___ CIS My Plan: My Plan Reflections in each of the 5 areas (My Plan Activities not required)*

 

 

7.  Participate in Career-Related Learning Experiences and demonstrate Extended Application of CRLS Knowledge and Skills

 

_____ The CRLS Reflection paper: The student must reflect upon experiences by which s/he has shown skills in each of the six Career Related Learning Standards, and has extended that knowledge and those skills beyond the classroom to new situations.  These experiences should have personal relevance to the student’s planning for the future.  Directions and scoring guide available on the Sprague website.

 

 

 

This collection should be assembled in the student’s advisory folder.  When it is completed the student should conference with the advisor, who will complete the student’s official checklist and turn it in with the student’s passing CRLS Reflection. 

 

Students graduating at semester should complete the checklist and conference by December 12.  

June graduates should complete the checklist and conference between December 12 and April 4. 

Early completions are encouraged.
