 In order for a student to be eligible to participate in athletics, they must meet the guidelines prescribed by OSAA, Salem-Keizer Public Schools, and Sprague High School:

Important OSAA Eligibility Policies:

·        Grades: A student must be enrolled and passing five classes in the previous and current semester.

·   Representation/Transfer: A student may only play for the school within the boundaries they live with their parents.  There are complex rules governing transfers.  Please speak with the athletic director before making any transfer decisions.

·        Undue Influence: A student may not participate in any athletic activity involving individuals associated with a school before choosing to transfer to that school.  Again, please contact the athletic director for clarification.

 

Salem-Keizer Public Schools

 

The Salem-Keizer school district has specific policies governing the academics and behavior of athletes.  There are important rules pertaining to drugs, alcohol, and tobacco.  Students are required to sign a consent contract before participating.  Please review the policy handbook:

Sprague Athletic Policies

 

In addition to the rules prescribed by OSAA and SKPS, athletes at Sprague must meet the following guidelines:

 

  • Attendance: Athletes shall be in school ALL DAY of an interscholastic activity or practice session to participate.  Exceptions shall be handled by the coach and/or athletic director as needed. 
  • Grades: Any student who has one or more F’s or below a 2.0 on any progress report must attend the Study Table program until they are passing.  Please review the Study Table policy for more details: Study Table
