Corban College junior Kyle Masten was named the Cascade Conference player of the week for Dec. 10-16.
Masten, a 6-0 guard from Sprague High School, scored a combined 36 points in helping lead the Warriors to the Wildhorse Resort Classic tournament championship last weekend at Walla Walla, Wash.
Against Whitman, Masten had a career-high 31 points, making 11 of 12 field goal attempts, including 8 for 8 from behind the 3-point arc earning him tournament MVP honors.
The Warriors (5-7) also beat Montana Tech. 83-68.
Corban hosts Northwest Christian tonight at 7:30 p.m. in a league game.
The game could mark the return of the team's leading scorer, 6-5 junior forward Wade Douglas.
Douglas is averaging nearly 21 points per game, but missed the past three contests because of an elbow injury.
Women's basketball: Jessica Steigleman earned conference player of the week recognition as she notched her fifth consecutive 20-plus point game in a victory Saturday against Pacific.
The 5-10 senior forward also registered her third double-double in a row, pulling down a team-high 10 rebounds against the Boxers.
Steigleman has scored 108 points in the past five contests, moving her team-leading points per game average to 17.1.
